STD Voices, a new initiative from the National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD), is aimed at sharing the voices of people living with or affected by STDs. For too long, stigma and misunderstanding have prevented people from speaking up about their experiences with STDs and seeking and receiving the care they deserve. The hope is that these personal stories will empower others to learn more about STDs.
The first installment of STD Voices is entitled, “My Herpes: From Shame to Empowerment,” and is written by Amanda Dennison (email), our director of programs and partnerships.
