WHO Releases Global Tuberculosis Report 2015

On October 28, the World Health Organization’s Global Tuberculosis (TB) Programme released its Global Tuberculosis Report 2015. It includes an overview of disease trends and responses in over 200 countries, as well as pipelines for development of tools to prevent, diagnose, and treat TB. Although some progress has been made in meeting the 2015 TB targets set in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, the report shows that TB now ranks alongside HIV as a leading cause of death worldwide.
