The National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD) has released new resources including the 2015 CDC STD Treatment Guidelines Wall Chart, a customizable factsheet on Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT) state policy, a resource on HIV and STD prevention in prisons and jails, and the 2014 STD and HIV Legislative Highlights and Analysis.
2015 CDC STD Treatment Guidelines Wall Chart
Through a partnership with the National Network of STD Clinical Prevention Training Centers and the American Sexually Transmitted Disease Association, a laminated 8½ x 11 summary chart of the updated treatment guidelines is now available from NCSD and these partners. These at-hand reference documents can help educate and ensure that all providers are giving patients the most effective, and up-to-date treatment for STDs in your sexual health service delivery sites and among those service delivery sites within your jurisdictions.
Expedited Partner Therapy: Growing Policy and Practice
This new customizable factsheet focuses on EPT state policy, and contains a section for localities to include local information. This factsheet highlights how the practice of EPT has expanded across the country in the nine years since the CDC first supported the practice. This factsheet is designed to be used not only to educate policymakers regarding legal barriers to EPT, but also educate providers on the practice of EPT.
HIV and STD Prevention in Prisons and Jails
Incarcerated people across the United States are disproportionately affected by multiple health problems; of significant concern is the prevalence of HIV and other STDs in this population. In this new publication by NCSD learn how HIV and other STD rates in correctional facilities compare to the general population; why HIV and other STD rates are disproportionately higher in U.S. correctional facilities; what can be done to decrease HIV and other STDs in correctional facilities; and what is NCSD doing to address HIV and other STDs in correctional facilities. Additionally, read a case study from Utah regarding an STD screening program in correctional facilities.
2014 STD and HIV Legislative Highlights and Analysis
