Facebook Live Series: Improving Public Health Messaging Using Modern Technology

Join UCHAPS for a Facebook Live series on how national campaigns can improve public health messaging using modern technology to reach priority populations.

Part 1: On February 6 at 2 PM, Dr. Helen Holton, the Executive Director of National Organization of Black County Officials (NOBCO), to discuss reaching Black women in national public health campaigns with effective messaging through the use of modern technology.

Part 2: On February 13 at 2 PM, we will be joined by Earl Fowlkes Jr.; the CEO and President of The Center for Black Equity; the Chair of the Washington, DC Office of Human Rights; and the Chair of the DNC LGBTQ Caucus; to discuss using technology to reach the LGBTQ community.

Part 3: On February 20 at 2 PM, we will have Johnathan Lykes, Artistic Director of Black Young and Powerful 100 to share best practices on reaching youth in public health campaigns.

Following each session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify barriers to working collaboratively with community leaders to increase effective messaging for desired populations
  • Create steps to overcome identified barriers and create action plans for effective engagement; and
  • Better understand community needs and expectations of national campaigns.
