Active Transportation Study Published in the Journal of Public Health Management & Practice

NACCHO co-authored a paper published in the Journal of Public Health Management & Practice in January 2019 called Developing Core Capabilities for Local Health Departments to Engage in Land Use and Transportation Decision Making for Active Transportation.

The paper focuses on a study led by the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Worcester Prevention Center from 2015 to 2017 to develop a core set of capabilities and tasks for local health departments to engage in land use and transportation policy processes that promote active transportation.

The result of the study was the development of ten actionable capabilities categorized according to required resources.
