The November 2018 MAHC Network webinar on November 27 brought together representatives from the Colorado Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to discuss response to a spa-related outbreak of Legionella.
Presenter: Tori Burket completed her M.S. in Environmental Health with a specialization in Epidemiology at Colorado State University. There her thesis included a longitudinal analysis of E. coli O157:H7 shedding patterns in dairy cattle in northern Colorado. Tori is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Environmental Health with a specialization in Epidemiology at Colorado State University. Her research papers include topics related to E. coli and Legionella. Since January 2017 she has served as the Waterborne Disease Epidemiologist with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. At CDPHE she coordinates surveillance, prevention, and response for cases of Legionella, Vibrio, Cyclospora, Cryptosporidium, and Giardia as well providing training and outreach for local public health, environmental health, and community partners.
