BCHC: Guarding Against Viral Misinformation This Flu Season

To coincide with National Influenza Vaccination Week (Dec. 2-8), the Big Cities Health Coalition released a blog on guarding against viral misinformation this flu season. Written by Joseph P. Iser, MD, DrPH, MSc, Chief Health Officer of the Southern Nevada Health District, the blog:

  • Discusses how the internet, social media platforms, and both mainstream and alternative news sites have made health and public health information—and misinformation—readily available, and
  • Offers recommendations for how we can work together to dispel common myths that circulate every flu season by emphasizing a few simple key messages.

Read the blog to learn how you can protect your communities against misinformation this flu season!
