To advance its mission of reducing illness and death from infectious disease, the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, in collaboration with partners, has developed the new tests and tools to better protect people from wide-ranging, ever-changing threats. A new report, “Innovative Technologies,” highlights the cutting-edge work scientists have accomplished over the past year, including analyzing social mixing at mass gatherings, using whole genome sequencing to better solve foodborne outbreaks, and developing new ways to quickly diagnose Ebola in West Africa.
