A feature article from the New Food Economy discusses the Homemade Food Operations Act that is awaiting signature from Governor Brown in California. If it is signed into law, “Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations” will be allowed starting in January 2019.
The article gives several examples of small home food enterprises and intermediaries shut down by local health departments that would likely be able to reopen under the new legislation.
