Our local HD is beginning work on all the Retail Standards, specifically focusing on Standards 2, 3, 5, 8 and 9 in the coming year. I am curious to know what other jurisdictions have done for follow up methods in Standard 3. We have started to work on this Standard and are trying to come up with ways for follow-up which are streamlined and efficient in tracking our follow-up activities.

Hi Christine! Thanks so much for your comment. In addition to checking back here to see what other local health departments have to share, I’d recommend reaching out to Amy Chang at achang@naccho.org. She works on our Retail Program Standards project and would be happy to direct you to some locals who have been working on Standard 3.

Also take a look at NACCHO’s Retail Program Standards Mentorship program if you’re interested in more formal peer guidance. The application period is open now and funding is available! http://www.naccho.org/topics/environmental/foodsafety/retail/
