The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) are partnering for the 2019 AFDO-Managed Retail Program Standards Grant Program. The program provides funds for the completion of projects and training to enhance conformance with the Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards (Retail Program Standards).
The application portal will be open to accept submissions for the calendar year 2019 funding year from September 19, 2018 through October 24, 2018 at 7:59 PM Eastern Time. Approximately $1,525,000 in funding is available for this granting year. This will enable a significant number of awards for jurisdictions in all four project categories – Small Projects, Moderate Projects, Training, and Food Protection Task Force Support Projects.
