Government agencies and the aquatics sector can use the Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) to reduce risk for outbreaks, drowning, and pool-chemical injuries at public pools and hot tubs/spas at apartment complexes, hotels, and waterparks.
This third edition of the MAHC has been updated in the areas of disinfection and water quality, lifeguarding and bather supervision, and risk management and safety. It also covers emerging public health topics, such as Legionella contamination and use of floatation tanks, as well as continuing challenges like noise reduction in indoor swimming pools.
