CDC Launches New Advanced Query and Data in the NCHHSTP Atlas

Oct 05, 2015 | Gretchen Weiss

The NCHHSTP Atlas is an interactive tool that provides CDC an effective way to disseminate HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB data, while allowing users to observe trends and patterns by creating detailed reports, maps, and other graphics. Find out more! http://www.cdc.gov/nchhstp/atlas/The NCHHSTP Atlas is the one-stop shop for CDC’s most recent surveillance data on HIV, viral hepatitis, STDs, and TB. The Atlas provides access to more than 10 years of the most essential CDC data for these diseases at the national, state, and county levels, and by populations. You can use the Atlas to see disease trends over time and the burden of these diseases in your community. It also gives you the ability to make custom maps, figures, and tables that you can use for planning, reports, presentations, and advocacy.

This update adds 2013 data for HIV, STDs, and TB; county-level data and origin of birth data for TB; and the first version of an advanced query option that lets you go deeper into the data. With the basic query, you can make maps of the data. The new advanced query lets you create custom tables and gives you the ability to look at data for multiple states or counties, see two or more years of data at the same time, and drill down into the data for important subpopulations. You can also download the data for more complex statistical analyses.

Read more about the additions in the ‘What’s New’ webpage and find detailed instructions on how to use the Atlas on the ‘About the Atlas’ webpage.
