Delivering HIV Prevention and Care to Transgender People, the latest CME/CEU from CDC’s Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention/Act Against AIDS initiative, shares the latest information on HIV prevention and care for transgender people, as well as strategies that health care providers can implement in their practices to help make clinical environments more welcoming to transgender people.
Upon completion of this CME/CEU program, participants will have increased knowledge and be able to:
- Discuss and address patient concerns regarding interactions between antiretroviral medications and affirming hormonal therapies.
- Define gender identity and other appropriate terms to use when discussing transgender health.
- List health disparities among transgender people and describe the role that stigma and discrimination play in creating them.
