Promoting Children’s Environmental Health at Early Care and Education Centers

Considering potential environmental hazards in relation to the siting of early care and education (ECE) facilities can reduce the risk of children’s exposure to dangerous chemicals.

NACCHO conducted an exploratory assessment to determine how local health departments (LHDs) work with ECE centers to prevent children’s exposure to environmental hazards.

Nine LHDs from seven states (Alabama, Kansas, Illinois, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota) informed this assessment.
