The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently announced two new funding opportunities to support organizations working to reduce the impact that the opioid crisis has on communities across the country.
The Rural Communities Opioid Response funding opportunity provides support for development of community plans to implement opioid use disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery interventions designed to reduce opioid overdoses among rural populations. This funding opportunity is open to all domestic public or private, non-profit or for-profit, entities, including faith-based and community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations, who will serve rural communities at the highest risk for substance use disorder and who meet the RCORP-Planning specifications for the Applicant Organization and Consortium as described below. The Expanding Access to Quality Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Services funding opportunity supports furthering community-driven efforts to reduce opioid use and increase access to mental health services. This funding opportunity is open to entities currently funded by the Bureau of Primary Health Care Health Centers Program.
