The rates of HIV transmission are high in the transgender and gender non-binary (TGNB) community. At the same time, pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, is an amazing new tool that reduces the chance of HIV acquisition by 90% or more. Why are the rates still so high with such an effective medication available?
This new module will discuss PrEP basics, barriers to care for TGNB clients, and ways to provide PrEP counseling and care in a gender affirming manner to those clients.
The course is free and participants can receive LPC and Social Work hours. Upon completion of the activity and submission of the certificate request form, one hour will be provided. Please email [email protected] if you have questions about the CE credits.
