A Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) on “Community-Based Services to Improve Testing and Linkage to Care Among Non-U.S. Born Persons with Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection – Three U.S. Programs, October 2014 – September 2017” was released. The report features three programs funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop hepatitis B testing and linkage-to-care programs serving non-U.S. born populations during 2014-2017. Findings include 78% of persons living chronic hepatitis B infection found care with a community-based service and an 14% infection rate among household contacts of HBsAg-positive persons.
